James Frances Kenneth Harris

Kenneth Harris, 84, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at his home in New Plymouth, Idaho with his wife Ruth and his daughter Joan by his side. At Ken's request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Ken was born May 29, 1928 in Franklin, Tennessee to James and Bertha (Elkins) Harris. Ken married Bertha Virginia Pewitt in 1944and from this union five children were born; Chester, Virginia, Shirley, Donald, and Wayne. Ken served in Korea in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950. Ken married Aileen Pickford in 1961 and to this union a daughter, Joan, was born. Ken resided for some time in Salt Lake City, Utah working as an auto mechanic. In 1981, Ken married Velda Ruth (Grover) Earles and eventually made their home in Cody, Wyoming. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and snowmobiling. Ken and Ruth moved to Idaho in 2005. Ken is survived by his wife, Ruth; sisters, Mildred of Indiana and Everna of Tennessee; daughters, Joan and Shirley of Utah and Virginia of California; sons, Wayne of Montana, Chester and Donald of Utah; stepsons, Edward Earles of Utah and Floyd Earles of Idaho; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, stepsons, Brent and David Earles.
