James Hugh McDaniel

James (Jim) H. McDaniel, 71, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015, at Parkwood Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. He was born on October 8, 1943, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to J.R. and Roberta McDaniel. He grew up in Espanola, New Mexico. He attended college in Los Alamos receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Lovina Payne on April 11, 1969, in Idaho Falls. He moved to Idaho in 1966 and went to work for Phillips Petroleum. He worked for various contractors at the INL for 30 years. He retired at the age of 57. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. Jim loved his family with all his heart and spent his time caring for his wife and three sons. Survivors include his wife, Lovina McDaniel of Idaho Falls; his three sons, Joe (Val) McDaniel of Ucon, Miles (Nicole) McDaniel of Boise, and Rhett (Marsha) McDaniel of Rigby; and eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Linda Lee. A Viewing for family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.
