On November 25th 2013, We lost our beloved wife and mother Janet Lane Warren to a 33 year battle with cancer.
She was born and adopted to Lou and Genevieve Wilson in Los Angeles CA in 1945. Jan then lived in San Jose, CA and then to Portland Ore, where she graduated from Parkrose High School. After graduation, Jan then attended two years of college.
Jan would later be married twice, both ending in divorce. Then in 1978, she drove in to the LA Oldsmobile and Honda dealership, only to flash her smile on the future love of her life, Woody Warren. They were married one month later.
Woody and Jan left LA, and subsequently moved to Tucson AZ and then to Cheyenne Wy. It was there, that in 1980 that they found her cancer when her son was born. The doctors said to prepare for a short marriage, because she wouldn't live past 1986. When Jan sought a second opinion, she got the same answer. It was then that she made a deal with God. Jan was baptized in 1985. Shortly after, her cancer went into remission. During her time in Cheyenne, Jan worked for the State of Wyoming Department of Education. She also met many lifelong friends there.
She then moved to Rock Springs WY in 1986, to work at Wyoming Community College and to support her husband in his new job. Shortly after, Jan was a business partner with Woody running a courier service. It was then that she found her true calling, teaching Sunday school. Jan loved seeing the little kids learning about Jesus for the first time. Her gentle spirit touched many lives and had many friends whose life she touched.
Jan (and family) was then sent to St. Anthony ID. It was here that Jan and Woody ran the local hotel. During this time, Jan also worked as a bus driver with the St. Anthony School district to work with the kids. She never met a kid she didn't like.
Then in 2003, Jan and her Husband moved to Ririe ID. With the help of her daughter in law Kylie, Jan found the home that she would spend the rest of her blessed life in. During her time here, Jan was the Head Librarian and loved having all of the people around. Especially the children. She also taught Sunday School at the Ririe Chapel.
During her time with us, Jan touched many lives. She was a spirit that knew no strangers, and saw the good in all she met. We will all miss her in person, but we know Jan will be with us in spirit. She is sitting on the front porch of her mansion, with her loved ones. Looking down on us with her beautiful smile, telling us this is not good bye, but see you later. Ta-Da.
She is survived by her husband Woody, Daughters Heather (Franklin ID) and Jennifer (Portland Ore) and Son Woody (Casper WY), Step Daughters Mary Middleton (Franklin OH) and Rhonda Walton (Ohio). Jan was also survived by 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She would not want you to grieve for her, but celebrate her life. We will have a memorial service for Jan on June 15th 2014 @ 11am at the Ririe Chapel. Those of you who can attend will be surrounded by her love. Deal done.
