JAY L. JARDINE
ARCO - A very kind and gentle man Jay L. Jardine, 89, of Idaho Falls formerly of Arco, Idaho passed away at Friends and Family Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls on June 29, 2013. He was under the care of Hospice. He was born in Rexburg, Idaho on June 11,1924 the last child of James Leo Jardine and Laura Ann Dabell Jardine. He graduated from Roberts High School. Jay was drafted into the Army in 1942, fought in Okinawa and was wounded. He received the Purple Heart. After the war he attended and graduated from Ricks College. He married his life partner Bette Jane Cooper on October 31, 1952 . They were married 49 years. Bette passed away in 2000. He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone and was retired for many years. He was a past Arco Fire Chief and an Arco City Councilman and EMT. He was proud to be a Fire Chief and EMT. He was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to camp and fish.
He is survived by his daughter Kim (Mike) Dickerson of Idaho Falls and a son Kelly Jardine, a sister Alice Allen of Idaho Falls, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bette, parents, sisters Wilma Lundburg. Hattie Davis, Jessie Davis, Gladys Grimm, and brothers Alfred, Glenn, Worth, Roy.
Graveside services will be held at the Lewisville Cemetery on Wednesday July 3rd, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with military rites.
The family would like to thank the loving caregivers at Friends and Family and Hospice. In lieu of flower please consider the Arco VFW.
