JEANEAN J. SHEPHERD - FRUITLAND
Jeanean Shepherd, age 86, of Fruitland went home to be with the Lord on Sat. Dec. 1, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty LaBelle; father, Jake Snook; sister, Marlys Snook; brother, Dennis Snook and her former husband, Richard Shepherd.
Jeanean was born in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Central H.S. in 1950. In 1967 after her divorce, she and 2 of her 4 children moved to San Diego, CAand lived there for 24 years. In 1991, she came back to Mpls., to reside (she missed the White Castle hamburgers, among other things). She went to work for Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and retired in 1997.
She loved her volunteer work, which increased greatly after retirement. She was involved with Ebenezer Ridges Care Ctr., Midwest Hebrew Ministries, V.A. Medical Ctr.,DARTS (Reading Buddies & Pen Pals), New Life Family Svcs., & Greater Minn. Assoc. of Evangelicals. She found great fun and joy in the Red Hats.
Jeanean is survived by daughter, Luanne (Rick) Stradley of Fruitland, ID; sons, Mark (Toni) of Winneconne, WI; Paul (Cathy) of El Cajon, CA and Stephen (Sue) of Mpls, MN; 9 much loved grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends Marilyn Olson and Dick Guille.
Memorials are welcomed to Valley Christian Church (Fruitland, ID) or one of two Pro-Life agencies: New Life Family Svcs., Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Ctr.
A memorial celebration of her life was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at her beloved church, Valley Christian Church 1325 NW1 ½ Ave., Fruitland, ID 83619
