ROBERTS - J. Yvonne Stewart of Roberts passed away Friday March 8, 2013 at her home in Roberts. Yvonne was born in Birch Creek on May 25, 1916 to Ruben T. and Mary E. Waters Barzee. She was the 8th child born to this union and was greeted with much joy. She attended a one room school in Birch Creek thru the 8th grade. Since there was no high school in the area, she to move to Blackfoot to attend high school. She graduated from Blackfoot High School and attended college in Compton, CA. She married Jason Palmer September 2, 1942 in Idaho Falls. Together they had 3 girls, Mary, Sandra and Diane. Jason died in January 1951. She then married Robert F. Stewart March 5, 1954 in Boise. They had one daughter, Bonnie. Robert died in Dec. 1967. Yvonne lived in Roberts for 62 years and was an active member of the Roberts Community Church. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, and her greatest happiness was being a kind and loving Mother and Grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Garner and Bonnie Ellis both of Roberts, Sandra (Marvin) Hayden of Idaho Falls. Granddaughters Meschelle Campbell of Brisbane Australia, Lexie Ockerman of Idaho Falls, and Lyndsay Ising of San Jose, CA. Great-grandchildren Tyler, Blake, Kasey, and Kaitlyn Ockerman of Shelley, Alex and Sophie Campbell of Brisbane, Australia. She was proceeded in death her parents, brothers Ruben, Warren, and George Barzee, Sisters Effie Chandler, Irine Harkness, Marcia Harkness, and Edithe Price, both husbands, and a daughter Diane Palmer who died at 7 months old. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Steve Moslee, officiating. Burial will follow at the Roberts Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be left at www.buckmillerhann.com.J.
