Jewell was born on July 20, 1919 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William Eugene and Lily Ann Paswater. She lived all of her life in Idaho Falls where she graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On March 19, 1944, she married Kenneth North in Idaho Falls. They had one son, Michael, whom they lovingly welcomed into their lives. Kenneth passed away July 19, 1955. Jewell then married Lloyd Brown on October 20, 1956, in Elko, Nevada. She then welcomed into her life two stepsons, Keith and David whom she treated as her own sons. Jewell was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Eagles Auxillary, where she served in many offices, including State President. She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in her activities with the Eagles Lodge. After she retired from work she took up painting, which she enjoyed greatly. She produced many beautiful paintings that her family currently enjoys. Jewell loved to bowl and bowled on various bowling leagues up until she was 93 years old and then continued to go to the bowling alley to watch her friends bowl and socialize with them, after she felt she could no longer bowl herself. She volunteered at the hospital as a pink lady until she was 91 years old and she loved that work very much. She was always willing to help people in any way possible. She was an avid Bingo player and loved playing Bingo at the Eagles Lodge and associating with her friends there. Jewell is survived by her two stepsons, Keith (Cheryle) Brown and David (Patsy) Brown; seven grandchildren, Christina, Doug, Jim, Brian, Ken, Marcy and Darcy; sixteen great-grandchildren, Douglas, Zachary, Robert (Kimberly), Melissa, Scott, Kimberly, Matthew, Sephanie, Kaylene, Steven, Ryan, Nathan, Zachary, Aliceann, Apryl and Jaymie; and three great-great-grandchildren, Helena, Zoey and Misha. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth North and Lloyd Brown, her son Michael North, a grandson, Bradley Brown, and her half-brothers, Roy Wilhite and Ray Wilhite. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Pamela Mayes, officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11:00 - 11:50 a.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank One Source Hospice for their care of Jewell in her final days.Jewell Christina Brown, 95, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of One Source Hospice at the time of her death.
