John Patrick McDermott

February 11, 1933 — November 8, 2012

John Patrick McDermott, 79, passed away on November 8, 2012 at his home in Idaho Falls, under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. He was born on February 11, 1933 to Edwin Frances and Beulah Morse McDermott in Idaho Falls. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Jean Nixon McDermott; two sons, John David (Cathrin) McDermott and Patrick Bryant (Kim) McDermott; one daughter, Kathryn Ann McDermott (Craig) Cushing; one sister, Edwina (Lee) Scott of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, David J. McDermott of Portland, Oregon; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
