Jose Damacio Martinez Jr.

Jose was born in Badito, Colorado on June 5, 1939 the son of Jose Damacio Martinez, Sr. and Rosa Cantu Martinez. Following the death of his father, Rosa moved her family to the Twin Falls area. She later married Frank Garcia, who was very instrumental in raising Jose. Jose was educated in Twin Falls, graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1957. Following his graduation, he joined the US Army, serving in the Military Police. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Twin Falls and went to work for Idaho Frozen/Con Agra Foods where he worked until his retirement in 2004. Jose and Jeanette Elaine O'Connor were married on January 3, 1972 in Elko, Nevada. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities. Jose is survived by his wife of 38 years; Jeanette of Twin Falls. Two sons and daughters in law; Preston and Dana Martinez of Boise and Vince and Jessica Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona. Two grandsons; Alexandre J. and Ross D. Martinez. His brothers and sisters in law; Frank and Annette Garcia of Spokane, Washington and Sam and Billie Martinez of Burley, Idaho. His sisters and brothers in law; Rita and Ron Woodall of Twin Falls, Martha and Mike Burroughs of Boise, Stella and Don Johnson of St. Maries, Idaho. And numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Walter Martinez. A viewing for Jose will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park". Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park". Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.Jose Damacio Martinez, Jr. 70 of Twin Falls died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home.
