Josh was born Jan. 13, 1979, in Bremerton, Wash., to Rena Taylor and was raised mostly in Idaho Falls with his family. Josh joined Willow Creek Woodworks in 1999 and never missed a day of work. He took pride in the details and was a perfectionist, combining talent with effort until his projects were completed to his self-inflicted standards. To his son, Kayde Olzak, he gifted his sense of humor, his gentle nature and his love of sports. Josh married his friend of 22 years, Gabrielle Olzak, in 2008, and Josh helped deliver their baby girl, Olivia June, in 2010. Together, they built their lives with the details and pride Josh insisted on. Josh was a model father. He never missed a doctor's appointment, recital, game or opportunity to guide and play. Josh is remembered as the fixer. Eager to help in the smallest way he could and true to form, not leaving the side of his sister, brother, mother or friend until he knew his job was complete, knowing that he left you in a better place than he found you. And that is all we are remembering; not the tragedies of his death, but how he left us in a better place than he found us. Josh is survived by his wife, Gabrielle Olzak; son, Kayde Olzak; daughter, Olivia Olzak; mother, Rena Taylor; sisters, Rhianna Olzak and Katrina Olzak; brother, Jared Moore; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Mary Kirn; grandfather, Thomas Louk; and many other nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and loved ones. Josh is preceded in death by grandmother, Karen Louk, and sister, Angie Croft. A public service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the GuestHouse, 850 Lindsay Blvd., Idaho Falls. You can donate to help support the family at www.gofundme.com/u9b4n8. As a final act of selflessness, Josh was an organ donor. By donation of his body so others may continue, he will be saving up to seven lives.
