Josie was born on March 2, 1943 to Octaviano Babe and Mary Eleanor Talamantez in Bracketville, Texas. She was the eighth of ten children; therefore, enjoyed a lifetime of sibling companionship. During childhood, the Talamantez family moved from Texas to settle in Idaho. Farming with her family, Josie learned the value of hard work and was soon helping out full time. Josie's own family began in 1962 with LaMar Yorgensen and they had four children. Later, she remarried on May 22, 1970 when she met Patrick Francis Craig, the love of her life. Together, they raised five children Mary (Roy) Taylor of Ririe; Dell Craig of Idaho Falls; Christine (Richard) Webb of Ririe; Ricky Craig of Idaho Falls; and LeAnn (Lance) Craig-McCord of Idaho Falls. The family made San Diego, California their home while Pat finished his service in the Navy. In 1978, when Pat retired, the family moved back to Idaho Falls, a place that Josie always considered home. In 1980 the first of 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren arrived and Josie knew she was forever blessed. Josie was a true matriarch. No matter how far her family strayed, she would ensure we always made it home, especially around the holidays. Full of love and life, she is often remembered kicking back with a fishing pole in hand, organizing family campouts, taking a gamble at Fort Hall, winning at Yahtzee, and coloring elaborate cartoons. Though she is no longer with us in person, she is home in our hearts and will be forever remembered by her family. Josie was preceded in death by: her husband, Patrick Craig; her daughter, LeAnn Craig-McCord; her parents, Babe and Mary Talamantez; her siblings, Albert Talamantez, Homer Talamantez, Gloria Ferguson, and Bob Talamantez. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Dale Luke, officiating.
