Joy Hull Myers

Joy was born on April 3, 1934 to Clair B. and Martha N. Hull in Pekin, Illinois. Her family moved to Tuscola, Illinois soon after, where her father became manager of the local radio station. By the age of 5, Joy began a career in radio which lasted for many years. In 1952, her father purchased KCID in Caldwell, Idaho where she hosted a night-time radio show. It was through this show that she met her future husband, Ken Myers. They were married on May 10, 1953. Joy and Ken continued to live in Caldwell, and Joy continued working at KCID until they moved to Pocatello where Joy began work at KSEI. She worked there until the family moved to the Firth/Shelley area when Ken began work at the R.T. French Company. During this period, Joy became active in several community and state projects. With Ken's retirement in 1989, he and Joy purchased an historic home in Spencer, Idaho, living there until 2006 when they relocated to Idaho Falls. Joy is survived by her husband, Ken; children Terry (Pam) of Boise, and Larry (Sue) Myers of Enumclaw, WA, Gaye (Kevin) Eckersell and Dawn (Ron) Obendorf, both of Idaho Falls, grandsons Aaron Myers, Adam Myers, Greg Myers, Nathan Eckersell, and Travis Obendorf (deceased) and granddaughters Nikki Becker and Haley Myers, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Niki Atkin of Lincoln, California. Joy was preceded in death by her parents. At Joy's request, there will be no funeral service; rather a family celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
