Joyce Mortensen

Joyce Eileen Mortensen 68 of Dubois died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home in Dubois. She was born March 22 1943, to Elzie and Vera Henman, in Walpello, Idaho. She grew up in Dubois where she met her husband, Everett Mortensen. They moved to Nebraska for Everett to take a job and enjoyed a few years there. They were married in March of 1964, and started a family. They came back to Dubios on vacation after their youngest child was born and stayed because they loved it. Joyce and Everett had three children; Marie Burkman (Don), Cindy Mortensen, and Curt Mortensen (Erin). They have six wonderful grandchildren; Criss, Mike, Brandon, Leo, Isaac, and Eric. Joyce love just being with her family, having big dinners often at her home and welcoming everyone. She loved fishing, camping, taking a "drive around the mountain" and helping others. She was a member of the Dubois Community Baptist Church and looked forward to helping out with bible camp every summer. She was the eighth of twelve Brothers and Sisters; Bob, Ruth, John, Joann, Don, Deloris, Alice, Butch, Lester, Linda, and Marylou. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sisters Ruth and Deloris, and her brother Don. She is survived by her Husband, and all of their children and grandchildren. The family will gather for an open house at the Dubois Baptist Church on, February 25th, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a luncheon in her honor and to celebrate her life.
