On June 26, 1965, Karen married Reese Rohwer and they resided in Idaho Falls. Reese and Karen spent 10 years building their cabin in Island Park and then enjoying it with friends and family, traveling from the west coast to the east coast, Hawaii and New Zealand. They both loved the outdoors, either snowmobiling or ATV’ing the back country and Yellowstone.
Karen enjoyed serving the people of Bonneville County in the Assessor’s Office for 38 years, then continued part-time for many years after retiring in October 1995. She appreciated her co-workers and helping the people of the county.
Karen was loved by many and told us she lived a wonderful 88 years. Some of her favorites were working in her yard, sunflowers, Diet Pepsi and tea, country music, watching the Bachelorette and Dancing With The Stars with her friends, going out to eat, and serving others.
During her final days, she was cared for by Anjula, a nurse from Brio Hospice, Kristy with A Helping Hand, and some of her closest friends and a relative. A special thanks to the Brio team and A Helping Hand for their compassionate care.
