Karlyne Newhard

Karlyne was born in Rigby, Idaho on May 26, 1939 to Steven "Chic" & Virginia "Ginny" Montague. She grew up in eastern Idaho and attended schools here. She met Jack Newhard in Idaho Falls and married him on September 14, 1962. They also lived in Mountain View & Cupertino, CA. (1965--1992), Vestal, NY (1992--2000) , and finally returned to Idaho Falls (2000--present). Karlyne was a member of the First Christian Church in Idaho Falls. She was an avid member of the Christian Women's Connection (Stonecroft Ministries) and enjoyed a variety of activities with the IF Newcomers Club. Each place she lived, she usually belonged to at least one bridge group. Karlyne enjoyed shopping, home interior design, beading, jewelry making, and other arts and crafts. Her family was her greatest joy. Karlyne was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Jack Newhard, her daughter, Shanna (Rick) Christensen, grandchildren Justin (Holli) Karinen, Sarah O'Keefe, and Matt Karinen, and great-grandchildren, Brett and Tyler Karinen (of Idaho Falls) and Ricky Brown (of Kentucky). She was preceded in death by her parents, Chic & Ginny Montague, and her twin brothers Ron & Don Montague. Family, friends & church attendees are invited to attend a memorial service in Karlyne's honor at 1:00 p.m. Monday April 23, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 1800 12th Street in Idaho Falls.Karlyne B. Newhard 72, of Idaho Falls passed away on Saturday April 14, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
