On November 11, 2013, Kathy Lynn Hardison Wells began her journey to meet her savior Jesus Christ and to rejoice with heavenly friends and family. After an almost five year battle with breast cancer, Kathy's body of 55 years could no longer hold such a giving and caring spirit. Although Kathy has left the physical realm, her spirit will reside within all that she was blessed to meet - even for a moment. Kathy has no doubt already heard the uttered words "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Kathy practiced a passion of never meeting a stranger by always sharing a smile, a comforting thought, or a little bit of music. Kathy's love for music and teaching started at an early age and continued during a 34 year music teaching career in Mississippi, Louisiana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Kathy was employed by the Idaho Falls public school system at the time of her passing. After graduating from Gulfport High School as a "Commodore", Kathy graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi's Music Education program with a BS in 1980 and a MS in 1985. Having worked as a band director while completing her master's, Kathy felt working with young people and having the ability to reach them through music was the best job ever. In fact she loved her calling so much you could often hear her say, "I'm blessed beyond measure to be able to do what I do for a living supported by family and friends. I've been doubly blessed to have been raised by caring parents and loved by two brothers and a soul mate husband." Kathy's passion, energy for life, and persistence in seeing only the best in each of us is her legacy. Such a legacy softly tells a story of a life lived well! Kathy will not be forgotten by those who knew her. Our thoughts and memories will serve as the wind beneath her spirit as she continues singing and humming music along the next trek of her journey. We will miss your wonderful and beautiful spirit. God's speed and peace be with you dear wife, sister, and faithful friend. We will see you on the other side - thanks for all the memories! Loved beyond belief! Kathy is survived by her husband, Ronald Keith Wells, of Idaho Falls; two brothers, Garland Keith (Lauren) Hardison of Clearwarter, FL, and Brian Lee (Kelly) Handison of , Powder Springs, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Lee and Gail Kathleen O'Neal Hardison. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S. 25th E. in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Rick Brown, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held at the church from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Sunday. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Beaumont, Mississippi, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
