Kenneth Bert Fosberg

April 12, 1928 — January 27, 2013

Kenneth Fosberg, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away from this earth on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. He died at a Boise hospital of natural causes while surrounded by family members. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2nd at Valley Christian Church, 1325 NW 1 ½ Ave., Fruitland. Condolences may be made to Ken's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Ken was born on April 12, 1928 in Farmington, NM to Hattie and Bert Fosberg. He graduated from Durango High School and was a proud "Durango Demon" athlete. He was incredibly popular in school, which led to his business success later in life.
Ken met the love of his life and married Carmene Frates Jan. 10, 1954. They raised three children, Kristy, Jody, and Becki. He worked in the gas fields in New Mexico before going to work for Safeway as a produce manager in Colorado and Idaho. He retired from Safeway in 1982 and later worked for Farmer Jack, Red Apple, and Jerry's Market. His outgoing friendly personality made him a popular and well-loved local personality whether at work, at a local civic event, or any sports venue in the valley. He never met a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved the outdoors and his family was his greatest priority in life. Ken is survived by his wife Carmene of 59 years; his children Kristi (Jerry) Ziegler of Payette, Jody (Margaret) Fosberg of Cambridge, Becki (LeRoy) Forsman of Nampa; his grandchildren include Katie (Jeff) Mosso and their children Tyler, Kody, and Kylee of Olympia, Amy (Chad) Belvoir and their children Shelby and Makayla of Payette, Tiffany (Sam) Ames and their children Abigail, Madeline, and Isabel of Nampa, Terra (Scott) Stinnett and their children Casey and Brielle of Nampa, Trisha (Cody) Phillips of Payette, Josh Fosberg (Ashley Ruiz) of Payette, Zach (Chelsey) Forsman with a great grandchild on the way of Nampa, and Carlie (Jason) Reynolds of Nampa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers or other donations, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
