Kenneth LeRoy Ward, 82, of Twin Falls passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at his home. Ken was born on October 10, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Hubert and Helen Stines Ward. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, and received his BSBA from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and his MBA from Ohio State University. 20 years after enlisting in the Air Force as a private, Ken retired as a major in 1971.
Ken owned and operated General Business Services in Twin Falls with his wife, Marge. He was active in the community, belonging to the JAYCEES, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Military Retirement Council, Self Development of People, and Boy Scouts. He was president of TIP Club, Habitat for Humanity, Crimestoppers, and the Camp Sawtooth Board. Ken delivered Meals on Wheels, taught English as a Second Language, tutored through the America Reads Program, and was a Lunch Buddy through the Juvenile Probation Office. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Twin Falls, where he was an elder and was Clerk of Session for 20 years.
Ken is survived by his wife, Margaret (Marge) Anne Bradish Ward of Twin Falls; by his 4 children, Leland Hubert Ward of Cummings, Georgia; Donald LeRoy Ward of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Mary Anne Ward of Bloomington, Indiana; and William Eugene Ward of Moscow, Idaho; and by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at White Mortuary Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Ken's name to the Idaho Youth Ranch, 5465 W Irving St., Boise, ID 83706 or to Camp Sawtooth, c/o Senita and Steve Watkins, PO Box 101, Nampa, ID 83653.
