Larry Russell Ziegler Sr.

Larry Russell Ziegler, 79, of Fruitland, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at home. Larry was born March 28th, 1937 on an Easter Sunday in Pocatello, Idaho to Frank Glenn and Olive Fern (Cockrell) Ziegler. The second of five children, he was raised in the Pahsimeroi Valley and his family moved to Payette in 1952. He married Deanna Marie Evans on December 27th, 1957. Larry enjoyed fixing things and was a talented mechanic. He worked at Hanigan Chevrolet for many years before becoming the pressman at the Argus Observer, from which he retired. Deanna passed away in 2012; they were married for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest daughter Peggy Ziegler Ray, his brother and one sister. He is survived by three of his children, Susan Ziegler and Larry (Gina) Ziegler of Fruitland, and Molly (Chris) Blakeman of Meridian, along with two sisters, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. All friends are invited to an informal gathering to remember Larry at his home, 304 N. Kansas Ave. in Fruitland on Saturday, June 11th, from 2 - 4 pm.
