She was born November 6, 1953, in Idaho Falls to Rhea Crystal Justin and Al Justin. She was the fourth child of six and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1972. On July 12, 1975, she married her loving partner of 39 years, Marlon Davis, in Pleasant Valley, Idaho. They have two sons: Robert Justin Davis and Joshua Marlon Davis, both of Idaho Falls; and three grandsons, Harley Davis, Colton Davis and Dalton Cowley. She was diagnosed with brain cancer April 3, 2013, and for almost 15 months, has fought a courageous battle with many ups and downs. Marlon could always be found at her side, throughout all the hospital stays and 24 x 7, day to day at home. Throughout this struggle, you could count on Laurie enjoying visits from friends and family and sharing a laugh or two. The family would especially like to extend their gratitude to Diane melling, Jessica Izucar, Tina Carlson and Teton Home Health and Hospice. Laurie worked at Amerigo as a flagger for many years and accumulated friends wherever she went. She enjoyed family and friends, loved shopping, helping others, making beaded watches for all her friends, and spending lots of time at the Crystal family ranch in Island Park on the Buffalo River. For the last five years, she was very active in AA and enjoyed doing service work up to the very end. Laurie made a difference in many people's lives and her friendship with the fellowship and her Sober Sisters was very strong. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Laird Justin, and younger brother, Tim Justin. There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Freeman Park, Shelter No. 1. It will be a potluck BBQ. Those attending are more than welcome to share their personal "Laurie Stories" at the memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Members Preferred Credit Union, c/o Marlon Davis, 1515 Hoopes Drive, Idaho Falls, ID 83404.
