Hugh Leland "Lee" Small 91, of Medicine Lodge, Idaho, passed away Wednesday August 3, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Lee was born July 8, 1920 in Small, Idaho to Lela Miller Small and Hugh Small. He attended schools in Medicine Lodge. He spent his early years learning to love the family ranch, where he was the 3rd generation to live and run the ranch.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He remembered vividly his ship docking in Pearl Harbor just after the attack.
He married Mary Mae Boyce on November 22, 1954 and together they raised 4 children on the family ranch.
Lee loved to fish and hunt, but most of all he loved ranching. He was honest as the day was long and had a million friends.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, his daughter Pat of St. Anthony; sons; Gordon (Debbie) of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Butch (Sheila), and Kevin (Laurie) both of Dubois, 7 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday August 8, 2011 at the Beavercreek LDS Ward chapel 250 S. Oakley in Dubois. Visitation will be at the Church from 11:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hahn Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
