Lennie Paul Ahnstedt

October 5, 1920 — June 8, 2012

Lennie Paul Ahnstedt, 91, of Ontario, OR, formally of New Plymouth, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, June 8, 2012. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday June 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in New Plymouth. Pastor Phil Pittman and Pastor Russ Steiner will officiate. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. Friends may call 4-6 PM Tuesday June 12, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to www.shafferjensenchapel.com. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.

Lennie was born on October 5, 1920 in Holyoke, Colorado to France and Fay Ahnstedt.
In 1940 he married Mary Mae Monk. To this marriage, their daughters Cherie and Bobbi were born. In 1947, they moved from Colorado to New Plymouth, Idaho, where they farmed until moving to town in 1998. He was a very successful farmer & dairyman. He had an artificial insemination business for 17 years. After retiring he raised Black Angus Cattle and was a member of the Black Angus Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for 58 years and served on the Board of Trustees for 25 years. He served on the local Drain Ditch Board and the New Plymouth School Board for several years. They spent 25 years being Snowbirds in Arizona. He loved playing pool, winning 5 gold medals in the Idaho State Senior Olympics. They enjoyed traveling and lived life to the fullest measure.
He enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and became known as the "Puzzle Man" at Wellsprings where they resided the last two years. His greatest love was for his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Mae Ahnstedt, two daughters, Cherie (Denny) Skogerboe, Bobbi (Dean) Cross. Four grandchildren, Lennette (Dave) Meyer, Mike (Deidra) Cross, Tonya (Fred) Grant and Kim (Scott) Reinecker; seven great grandchildren, Kim Rostock, Quinton Beams, Owen, Eva and Camille Cross, Jacob Reinecker and Sarah Reinecker; two great-great grandchildren Randen and Keira Rostock. Donations in lieu of flowers to Wellsprings Assisted Living Facility 2104 W. Idaho Ave. Ontario, Oregon 97914.
