Leona Marjery Reed

Leona Skelton Reed (Idaho Falls, ID) died quietly in the presence of her family on October 7, 2017. She lived 92 healthy, fun-filled years. She joins her parents Floyd and Eva Skelton and Wallace Reed, her husband who was the "light of her life" and soul-mate for 60 years. She is a graduate of Idaho Falls High School and Colorado Women's College. Leona's loving children: Susan Kuhn (David Kuhn), Marsha Stencel (Joe Stencel), Bill Reed (Judee Reed) and Bob Reed (Aimee Reed) experienced life with a woman filled with love and an intrinsic ability to guide them to live productive and meaningful lives. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Erika Von Schubert (Singapore), Cynthia Betz (NJ), Matthew Stencel (MD), Michael Reed (NY), Stephanie Hay (ID), Richard Mortensen (AZ), Darryl Kuhn (CA) and Julianne Kuhn (CA). She will always be remembered as a beautiful and gracious great-grandmother to Amelia, Grace and Reed Stencel (MD); Sadie and Eva Betz (NJ); Mason and Dylan Kuhn (CA) and Alexia Favre (Singapore). Friends often described Leona as caring person who was an interested listener, empathetic and a kind soul. She enjoyed the company of faithful friends and a time for bridge games. The family extends their appreciation to Beth Brown, her long-time personal assistant, who made it possible for Leona to live independently and continue to experience life to the fullest. A funeral service for friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at the Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a fund for rehabilitation chairs for USA soldiers.
