Linda S . Patrick (Thompson) born November 29, 1949 the daughter of Howard and Phyllis Thompson. Linda passed away on December 6, 2023. She was raised in Idaho Falls, but while growing up, summers were spent on the Bar-N Ranch near West Yellowstone, Montana.
After High School, Linda graduated from Medical Assistant School in July 1969. She was married to Tom Newman and had a son, Tom Jr. They later divorced. She married Gary Patrick on August 5, 1982 and they were married for over 41 years at the time of her passing.
Her professional career started as a medical assistant for a local doctor, she then worked in the lab at Rogers Bros. She shifted gears and went into the advertising sales business working for a local, weekly agricultural related newspaper. Linda then filled an open advertising position at KUPI radio where she was very successful. From there she moved to KIFI television advertising department, and after a successful term at Channel 8, she was asked to manage the new Telecable advertising division of Upper Valley Telecable which became Cable One and now Sparklight.
In 1995 she left advertising sales and joined Voigt Davis Realtors as a full-time Realtor®. She worked in Real Estate for over 20 years until her retirement.
Linda’s community involvement included the initial fundraising group for the Idaho Falls Arts Council to raise money for the Colonial Theatre project. She served for several years on the Board of Directors for Tautphaus Park Zoo and also served on the Greater Idaho Falls Association of Realtors Board of Directors.
Linda is survived by her husband Gary, son Tom and daughter-in-law Kathryn, 3 grandchildren and one great-grandson and brother Michael Thompson and family. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 28th in the Carr Gallery of the Colonial Theatre from 1-3PM. Casual attire, refreshments will be served. Her wishes were for friends and family to gather and enjoy each other’s company, not to be sad, but celebrate a “life well-lived”.
