Lloyd married Frances Studyvin on July 3, 1944. They had been childhood sweethearts since Valentines' Dance of 8th grade. They spent their life together in work and play. Frances died in 1994, 2 months following their 50th wedding anniversary. Lloyd and Frances enjoyed traveling after retirement, flying around the country in their Beech Bonanza airplane. Following France's death Lloyd began traveling to Alaska by trailer making videos for DIY travelers. His later adventures included a freighter trip through the Great Lakes to Italy and back. Lloyd loved to work; read and have a good argument on most any subject.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances, sons, Tom and Joe; parents and a younger brother, Jim. He is survived by his son, David (Wrangle, Alaska), daughter, Denice Goodrich Liley, and son-in-law, Jim Liley, (Eagle), and daughter-in-law, Karen Goodrich (Jerome). Grandchildren: Troy Goodrich; Julie Morris (Green River); Ami Abou-Bakr (London); Lucas Liley and Catherine Liley and three great - grand children, Brian, Nicholas, and Britney.
Lloyd's life was enriched and long time neighbors, Steve and Nancy Henderson and Debbie and Irwin Blumhorst; and newer neighbors, Krystal and Ryan Christiansen; assisted him. Their care and concern made it possible for Lloyd to live at home until recently. The past 6 months, Lloyd was living at Lincoln Court. He marveled that there was no place better to live than Lincoln Court.
