Jean was married to John W. Ruud, they celebrated 50 years of marriage on 12/30/2019, we thank him for being an amazing father to us and loving husband and caregiver to our mother. She has 5 children, Kevin Miller, Lisa Beamguard, Denise Kurtz, Bill Ruud and Julia Clow, who never felt shorted on love, support or encouragement. We remember the magical Christmas Eve's, family dinners, picnics, and baseball, the beautiful school clothes, choir and dance dresses that were even more incredible because of the hours she put into sewing them. The pride she had in all of us when we graduated from high school, college, got our first work promotion, had our babies and how she loved each one of those babies...
Our babies (Samantha (Elliot), Kevin John (Oliver), Sierra, Elizabeth, Ashley (Brooklyn), Kelsey) will remember the unconditional love she had and will think of her each time they hold the quilt she made for each of them.
We remember she didn't have an easy life and made many mistakes along the way (as we all do) but she was always open and honest about them, as she helped steer us down a better path. All she has ever wanted was for her children to have more and do better than she did. Yet she still drove herself to be better and we were so proud when she graduated from college the same year our youngest sister did. She put that degree to good use running the TVCC library for many years until her retirement.
We remember the times she's been a mother to our friends when they needed it. The times she trusted us to make the right decisions and the times she was there for us when we didn't. We remember that throughout any heartbreak we've had to experience over the years, she's always been there for us to cry on.
She may be gone, but we will always remember and thank her from the bottom of our heart for those memories, for believing in us. But most importantly we thank her for showing us how to be the best parent and grandparent and great grandparent we can be and for teaching us the importance of family.
We love you mom, grandma, nana and will ALWAYS remember...
