Lorraine Frances Bernhard 82, of Idaho Falls passed away on Thursday May 19, 2011 in Idaho Falls.
Lorraine was born on March 24, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Albert and Martha Milke Hess. She grew up in Pittsburgh graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School in 1947. She married Charles T. Bernhard on January 8, 1949 and together they raised five daughters.
Lorraine was an active member of her church, both in Pennsylvania and in Idaho Falls. She was involved in many organizations and activities over the years. She taught Sunday school for children with special needs at St. Agatha's Church in Bridgeville, Pa. she was a Eucharistic Minister at Nativity Parish in South Park, Pa. and a Lector at the Idaho Falls Catholic Community.
Lorraine was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, painting, and playing both the organ and piano. She also enjoyed nature and loved animals of all kinds.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles, five daughters; Cheryl (Owen) Johnson, Marilyn (Randy) Shaw, Suzanne (Blaine) Beaderstadt, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Dianne (Kevin) Crowley of Quincy, Massachusetts and Mariellen (Alfred) Smith of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren and a brother Albert J. Hess of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church on the corner of 17th Street and Woodruff in Idaho Falls with Father Raul Covarrubias, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. A rosary for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, with a viewing from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.
