Lorraine H. Lucier

July 19, 1919 — November 23, 2015

Lorraine was born July 19, 1919 to Hannah Maude Robinson and Burns Edward McKnight in Providence, RI. In 1940 she married Norman N. Lucier. Together they established and operated SunnyLedge Farm, a pick-your-own-strawberry farm in Kingston, RI. Lorraine and Norman wintered in Ft. Pierce, FL for many years where they deep sea fished on their boat, Serena. In 1971 Norman passed away and Lorraine moved to Idaho Falls in 1979 to be close to her family. In 1985 she married Lowell Jobe. They resided on County Line Rd until his death in 2010. Lorraine and Lowell enjoyed cross-country skiing, traveling, and ballroom dancing. They were a fixture at local dances and dance competitions. She enjoyed reading science fiction, and at one time she had over 5,000 science fiction books, although her passion in life was cats. Lorraine moved to Lincoln Court in August of 2013. Lorraine is survived by her daughters Betty Lucier Wright (Dennis Hollenbeck) and Diane Lucier Roberts (Dennis Roberts), both of Idaho Falls; grandchildren Nathan Wright of Blackfoot, Melanie Lewis of Los Angeles, and Matthew Lewis of Idaho Falls. In addition, she has seven great and nine great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 14 year old cat, Eloise. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melinda Wright Evans. Per her request, she will be cremated and no services will be held. An open house for friends and family will be held December 6 from 4-6 pm at 5762 E 129 N Idaho Falls, ID 83401. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Snake River Animal Shelter, or an animal charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home.
