Lorraine Ivie Miller
Lorraine was born June 14, 1930 to Frank and Vera Ivie in Park City, Utah. She graduated valedictorian from Bellevue High School in 1948. While in school she was a cheerleader and played basketball. The summer after graduation she worked a Sun Valley, Idaho and met Eugene Albert Miller. After completing one semester at Albion Normal College, Lorraine and Gene were married on December 17, 1948 in Kimberly, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
One year later their daughter, Lynn was born, followed by sons, Al, Greg and Skip. Gene and Lorraine lived in Kimberly, Jerome, Ketchum, then returning to Kimberly. Lorraine worked on the potato sorters, as a waitress, a chiropractor assistant and finally working with her husband at CSI doing janitorial work. She made friends where ever she worked.
Lorraine was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She had a very strong testimony of the Gospel and was grateful for the influence it had in her life.
Lorraine's dad was a government trapper so she had many great memories enjoying the outdoors. She spent many hours fishing with Gene on the Salmon River and taking her trailer and 4-wheeler to the mountains enjoying time with family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Vera, her husband, Gene and her grandson Sean Eugene Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Stan) Bird, Kimberly, Sons, Al (Julie) Miller, Julienne, CA, Greg (Rosie), Filer, Skip (Deanna), Hansen. Grandchildren: Kami Lammers, Jaci Urie, Jeff Miller, Lisa Miller, Eric Miller, Tyler Miller, Hayley Miller, Adam Miller, Abby Miller, Afton Miller. Great grandchildren: Nick, Shelby, Ben, Ayden, Kylee, Alex, Tristan, Lexi and Cody. Lorraine is also survived by sisters, Elois Sites, Mary Ferris and brother, Lorn Ivie and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She loved us all and was a wonderful example. She is going to be missed by all of us.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff from Hospice Visions, Mary T. Lorie B. and Don R. for the excellent care they gave our mother helping her pass with love and dignity.
