Lorraine Smart

Lorraine Smart, 95, of New Plymouth, passed away March 26, 2014 surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 4th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to Lorraine's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. She lived at Park Place Assisted Living in Nampa, for the last three years. Lorraine was born in Cold Springs, OK. She met her husband, Lloyd Smart and they were married June 8, 1936. Later, the family moved to Idaho, where they raised their three children, Jim Smart (Pat), Lola Hewett (Larry) and LaVoy Smart (Amelia). Lloyd passed away in 1996, followed by the death of LaVoy in 2002. She had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Lorraine was the sister to three brothers and was the last surviving child of Ella Yandell, formerly of New Plymouth. She was a member of the Fruitland Church of Christ, where she enjoyed the fellowship of many friends. She was very skilled at sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening and caring for stray cats. She enjoyed many years hunting, fishing and camping with Lloyd and family. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor and loved the company of her family.
