Lynn Bernard Clousing, 78 of Idaho Falls died February 28, 2013, at the Lincoln Court Retirement Center in Idaho Falls. He was born on December 22, 1934, at Chicago, Illinois, the son of Lawrence Cornelius and Linnet Jane Davies Clousing. Lynn spent his earlier years in Chicago until moving with his family to Montana at the age of eleven. After graduating high school, he went to work in a blacksmith shop for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Livingston, MT. Lynn thought he was one of the last blacksmith apprentice hired because a year later the diesels engines arrived. In 1953 Lynn married Betty Bouchee and later moved to Billings, MT. where he started a thirty-five year newspaper career mostly in advertising. They later divorced. In 1965 he married Sandra Hurley and they later divorced. After stops in Idaho Falls, Merced, CA, and Klamath Falls, OR., he ended up in Antioch, CA. where he worked as the advertising director. Lynn met and married Elaine Palmer. They later divorced. In 1979 he purchased part ownership in a small weekly paper which he sold nine years later. Lynn moved to Idaho Falls in 1994 to enjoy his retirement it is here, where Lynn married Mary Patricia Rhoades. She preceded him in death in 2006. In 2010 Lynn married Eunice Halkar. She preceded him in death in 2011. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, traveling, playing cards and was an avid fan of stock car racing. Lynn was fun loving, and had a great since of humor, and spending time with his special friend Lela Stewart at Lincoln Court. Survivors include three daughters, Toby Lynn (Ted) Smart of Salem, VA.; Terri Louise (Rick) Clark of Idaho Falls; and Lyla Kay Andelin of Greenville, Ca.; two sons, Rodney Scott Clousing of Great Valley, NY, and Russell Steven (Angela) Clousing of LeGrande, OR., seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, two wives, and one granddaughter. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 455 W. Sunnyside in Idaho Falls, with Reverend Larry Cudmore, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
