Manuel died peacefully at home with Carol Jean Borge, his loving wife, of fifty-four years. Manuel and Carol were married May 1, 1959. They were later sealed for time and all eternity, on June 17, 1960, in the LDS Los Angles Temple. Manuel and Carol were the parents of seven children; Stephanie (Seley), John, Grant, Catherine (Roberts), Matthew, Michael & Jared. Manuel's love of his Wife, his Children and his strong Spiritual Belief, guided his life, here on this earth. His faith in his Savior Jesus Christ gave him strength to endure the struggles of this life. Manuel served honorably, in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. He was a credit to his Country all the days of his life. After being Honorably Discharged from the Air Force, he attended San Jose City College. He would later attended Eastern Oregon University, University of Idaho and Pepperdine University. Manuel put himself through college to become a Teacher, Principal, Director of Migrant Education and eventually, a Superintendent. He accomplished all of this while raising and supporting his family. He worked in the Oregon and Idaho Educational systems for 36 years. After retiring, Manuel enjoyed teaching and helping the inmates at the Snake River Correctional Institution. Even as his health was failing him, he had a strong desire to help others. At Manuel's passing, he left behind his Wife, 7 Children, 28 Grand Children and 6 Great Grand Children, all of which look forward to being reunited with him someday.Manuel Henry Borge passed away on December 18, 2013. Manuel was born in San Jose, California, on December 13, 1936, to John Manuel Borge and Delphina Borge. He was the youngest of their six children.
