Manuel Miguel Vazquez-Beltran

September 29, 1942 — September 19, 2015

Manuel Miguel Vazquez-Beltran, 72, passed away from long battle with cancer on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at his home in Idaho Falls, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 29, 1942, in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Agustin Vazquez-Moreno and Maria Del Carmen-Beltran. He spent his early years in Mexico, quitting school at an early age to help provide for his family. In 1970 he met Margret Joan Blair and they had five children. They later separated in 1985. He married Linda Nelson on February 28, 1997; they later divorced but got back together and were best friends until his passing. He lived and worked in Dallas, Texas, in construction, later moving to Chicago, Colorado and on to Idaho Falls, where he made his home. He worked for Browning Foods Inc., Walker Farms, and Taylor Produce. He worked for the City of Idaho Falls for the last ten years. He loved working for the City of Idaho Falls, taking care of all the flowers downtown. Even on his days off he would be sure and go check on his flowers. He loved gardening, watching Monday Night Raw, paid preview boxing, and spending time with his family. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The one thing he enjoyed doing most was spending time with his grandchildren. He especially admired his grandson Angels willingness to learn how to plant flowers and garden and he cherished the time spent teaching him this skill. During his last months he especially appreciated Angel's willingness to taking him to his doctor appointments. Those many hours spent together formed a special bonded between them. Survivors include his daughter, Angelina (Jose) Vega of Idaho Falls; sons, Travis Eli Blair, Luis Agustin (Socorro) Vazquez, Juan Jose Vazquez, and Manuel Miguel (Amber) Vazquez, all of Idaho Falls; brother, Jesus Vazquez of Acuna, Mexico; sisters, Alicia Del Carmen-Vazquez, Rosenda Vazquez, Fransisca Vazquez, Anita Vazquez, and Martha Elena Vazquez, all of Acuna, Mexico; twenty-one grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and his step-children, Robert (Rhandi) Nelson, Mike (Pam) Nelson, Teresa (Jan) Thomas, and Steven Thomas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelina Vega, his father, Agustin Vazquez-Moreno and his mother, Maria Del Carmen-Beltran. A Rosary for family and friends will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, with a viewing for family and friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls.
