Marilyn F. Ranger, 86, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living in Idaho Falls. She was born on April 1, 1929 in California, to Harvey C. and Julia Mae McConnell Croley. She grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. She left school at an early age to go to work. She married Lawrence R. Bates in June of 1946, and divorced but remarried in 1964, then divorced. She married Arthur E. Ranger in 1968. She worked her early years for Kraft Food then worked 20 years for Boeing Aircraft - formally Douglas Aircraft. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for the last 15 years. She loved to roller skate in her youth, and also bowling, crossword puzzles and her soap operas. She loved dogs and cats, and always was looking after strays. She became Grandma to all of her friend's kids. Survivors include her daughter, Paula Nakayama of Idaho Falls; her niece, Cinda (Leon) Wiser of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and her great nephew, Tim (Susan) Corbeil of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ranger, son Richard D. Bates, her parents, and her sister Laura M. Olsen. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Bob Sherwood, officiating.
