Marlene Taylor

Ellen "Marlene" Taylor, 78, of Filer passed away with her family by her side Tuesday September 4, 2012 at St. Luke's Magic Valley. She was born June 27, 1934 in Carthage, Missouri to Jerry and Isabelle Taylor. At the age of 12 her family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where she attended schools and graduated from Twin Falls High School. She married Bill Stinson in 1952, and they later separated. She met and fell in love with Verlon Taylor of Filer and they married February 14, 1960. She and Verlon resided in Filer until her passing.
Marlene had a passion for reading. She enjoyed reading for enjoyment as well as to gain knowledge as she was a life-long learner. Her greatest times were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became a second mother to many of them. She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years and actively served in the church as well as organizing and leading many ministries and events. In 1998 she joined St. Edward's Catholic Church in Twin Falls. As her health began to fail in the last several years she was unable to serve in the church as much as she would have liked, so she became a prayer warrior for her family and those around her. Her devotion to her Lord positively impacted the lives of many people throughout her life.
Marlene was preceded in death by her brother Jack Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Verlon Taylor, as well as her children, Mark (Michelle) Stinson and their son, KC; Brad (Debbie) Stinson and their sons Jeremiah and Nathan; and Tammy (Tom) Hart and their children Jama Bowers, Lacy Schmidt, and Jared Hart; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Edward the Confessor in Twin Falls, with inurnment following at the Filer Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 7:00pm at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park". Services are under the direction of Lance Cox and staff.
