Marvin Albert Heidelberger, 80, of Payette, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his home. A viewing for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 3rd at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 4th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Condolences may be made to Marvin's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Marvin was born in Wheaton, MN on Aug. 18, 1932 to Emil and Lillie Heidelberger. He lived most of his life in Payette and graduated from Payette High School. He attended Boise Junior College and served in the Army. After spending two years of active duty, he received an honorable discharge and served in the Army Reserve to complete eight years of service. While in the Army, he received the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. In 1957, he married Imogene Barber. They were married 35 years until her death in 1992. They have three children, daughters Linda Harvey (Larry) of Yuma, AZ and Loretta Crowder (Gene) of Payette and a son Larry Heidelberger of Emmett. Marvin is also survived by his wife of 18 years, Donna Heidelberger of Payette; one brother Louis (Ida) of Oregon Slope; three sisters, Marie Payne of Pasadena, CA, Joan Straker (Bernie) of Fruitland, and Rose Adams of Payette; his grandchildren, Kit (Brandie) of Yuma, AZ and Leah Pulsifer (Kyle) of Washington DC; three great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by four stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John; two sisters, Betty and Carol; as well as his first wife, Imogene.
He was very active in his church all his life, and his wonderful voice was often heard above all others. He will be so missed by his church family. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
