Maxine Zaladonis

Maxine was born on July 26,1926 in Colcord, OK. To J.P. Hudson and Ethel Windfield Hudson. She attended grade school in Kansas, OK. and high school in Westport, OR. She married Lawrence A. Zaladonis on January 25, 1945 in Longview, WA. This was the beginning of a wonderful marriage that produced 5 loving children and lasted for over 67 years. Maxine dedicated herself to raising her family and taking care of her husband. She was always involved in her children's life, serving as a den mother during scouting years, or helping with various school functions. She was a gifted quilter and seamstress who was always happy to be helping someone. She was active in numerous charities and spent many years helping in voting booths during elections. She also enjoyed camping, the outdoors, reading, and was an excellent cook. Maxine was a member of the Catholic Church and had a special place in her heart for Holy Rosary Church. She loved to attend mass and help out those who needed an extra hand. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry of Idaho Falls, 5 children; Joyce (Dick) Felter of San Antonio, TX; Patricia (Frank) Young of Shelley, Edward (Cheryl) Zaladonis, Michael (Abbigail) Zaladonis, and Robert (Rachel) Zaladonis all of Idaho Falls, and a brother Gilbert (Diane) Hudson of Anaheim, CA., 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Carolyn Young, sisters Evelyn Backman, and Velma Krostag, brothers Doug and Bill Hudson. A Funeral Mass for Maxine will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 6, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, corner of 9th and Lee Streets, with Father Raul Covarrubias celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday August 5, 2012 at the funeral home, with a viewing to follow from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. that same night.Joyce Maxine Zaladonis 86, of Idaho Falls passed away on Monday July 30, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
