Melvin Eugene Moncur

Melvin was born on August 8, 1921, at Rupert, Idaho. He was the son of Donald W. and Laura A. Moncur. He was the 10th of 11 children in his family. He graduated from Rupert High School and farmed in the Rupert area for many years. He moved to Twin Falls in 1964. Melvin married Georgia Seamons on April 20, 1940. They were the parents of 5 children. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served as a Bishop, Bishop's counselor, high councilman, Seminary coordinator, and served 3 missions with Georgia to Monterey Mexico, Micronesia, Guam, and the Boise, Idaho Temple. They spent many years actively involved with the stake missionaries when they spent winters in Yuma, Arizona. Melvin's wife of 69 years, Georgia, passed away in 2010. He married LaDonna Bingham on June 18, 2011. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna, his children; Marilyn (Royal) Blacker, Hazelton, ID; Joyce (Eldon) Bott, Provo, UT; M. Eugene (LeeAnn) Moncur, Hazelton, ID; Lyle (Delsa) Moncur, Twin Falls, ID and Georgia Kay Brown, Twin Falls, ID. He also had 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren in the Moncur family. He is also survived by LaDonna and her 4 children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters, his wife Georgia, daughter-in-law, Dianne Moncur and son-in-law, James S. Brown. The family expresses their thanks to the doctors and nurses of St. Luke's Hospital and the staff from St. Luke's Hospice for their care and help. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the 15th Ward LDS Church, 847 Eastland Drive North, Twin Falls with Bishop Mark Lambert conducting. Viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls as well as on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Rupert Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be given in Melvin's name to the LDS General Missionary Fund, or the charity of your choice.
