Merle Dwain Larsen

Merle was born April 9, 1929 to John and Mabel Larsen in Davey, Neb.. He spent his early years in Davey and moved with his family to Idaho when he was 10 years old, settling in Aberdeen. He graduated from Aberdeen High School. He met Madeline Hubick and they were married on November 16, 1957 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The couple lived in Pocatello, Buhl and then settled in Idaho Falls where they raised their family. Merle worked at several sales positions, including Snake River Equipment and Sears in Idaho Falls. He was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church and of the Braille Workers #185. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and working with the Braille Workers. Many wonderful family memories were created on their camping trips. Merle was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and his church, and will be missed by many. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Madeline; children Judy (Brad) Herbst of Idaho Falls; Lisa (Craig) Archer of Phoenix, AZ.; and Carol (Patrick) Good of Everett, WA..Brothers Clifford (Marjorie) Larsen of Paul, ID., and Wayne (Nelda) Larsen of Pasco, WA. Five beloved Gandchildren; Ryan Herbst, Jami Herbst, Natalie Archer, Adam Good, and Katherine Good.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his son Burt John Larsen, his brothers Anker and Wilmer Larsen, and his sister Verna Frueauf. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Hope Lutheran 2071 12th Street in Idaho Falls, with Reverend Ryan Barnes, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home 825 E. 17th Street on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday. In leiu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Braille Workers #185 or Hope Lutheran School.Merle Dwain Larsen 83, of Idaho Falls passed away suddenly on Saturday April 14, 2012 at his home .
