After a heartfelt battle of a long-term illness Michael Fowler-West passed away peacefully at his home residence in Idaho Falls surrounded by his loving wife and family on May 2, 2021.
On July 12, 1953, he was born in Idaho Falls, Id, son of the late Vernal and June (Hill-Rainey) Fowler. He grew up in Iona with his siblings Juanita, Gary, Darwin (Don), Edgar (Dee) Rainey, & Patsy Fowler.
He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1972. During his years in high school, he managed his time between working with his father and various other odd jobs. On November 9, 1973, he married the love of his life Rosemary West, and they settled down in Idaho Falls. He worked for his father's company Vernal Fowler & Son LLC, a customized agricultural trucking company. On August 23, 1977, they had their first child Trisha Tibbs (Derek). They moved to Roberts, Id, to be closer to family & on October 1, 1984, they completed their family with their second child, Jennifer Murray (Michael).
After his father died in 1986, he took over the family business, and he was happy & prosperous until he sustained a life-altering injury in 1989. Although he could no longer work in the field he loved so very much; he fought to overcome his injuries & successfully opened a thrift store in Rigby, Id in 1992 with his wife. He later started a lawn care business & did that until his health permitted him from doing so.
No matter what, there was nothing that could keep Mike down. Michael's heart belonged to his family; he loved & supported them and would do anything and everything for them whenever he could. He was loyal & faithful to his wife of 47 years, and he loved and supported his daughters & his six grandchildren until his last day. He proudly became a great grandfather in March of 2015 & has two great-grandchildren.
He taught his daughters the power of a strong work ethic, loyalty & respect towards others & above all else, to never say goodbye or goodnight to your loved ones without saying, "I love you all the world. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
