Mitsuko Harada Harada "Mitzi" Sadamori

March 7, 1925 — October 13, 2014

Mitzi as she was known to her friends, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2014. She lived 89 years despite her health issues with Parkinson's, Dementia and Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on March 7, 1925 in Wapato, WA to Takashi and Tamaru Harada. The fourth of nine children, she attended school in Wapato and helped on the family farm. When the war broke out, the government moved the family to Portland then eventually to the Heart Mountain Internment Camp in Wyoming. She graduated from the Camp High School. Although given the opportunity to attend a University, Mitzi stayed in camp and helped the family as her Mother was battling cancer. Her father was separated from the family. The family was eventually ‘relocated' to the Boise Valley along with many other Japanese Americans. At first Mitzi lived in Boise and did domestic help. After school and licensing, Mitzi owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Fruitland, ID. She would meet her future husband George Sadamori who farmed with his brothers. They raised their three children Gary, Sharmon and Michelle in Nyssa, OR. She returned to the work world when the children were older. Mitzi worked a number of years at the First National Bank in Nyssa. She later worked and retired from the Amalgamated Sugar Company where she had many friends. She was a member of the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple. Mitzi was loyal, supportive and loved her family. She took very good care of her husband of 62 years, George. She is survived by her son Gary (Marceline) of San Francisco, CA; and daughters Sharmon (Rev. Dennis Fujimoto) of Ontario, OR and Michelle Sadamori of Nyssa, OR; brother in-law Kaz Sadamori; brother Shiz Harada of Fremont, CA; sisters Yuki Hayashi (Harry) of Fremont, CA, Sumi Kosobayashi of Minneapolis, MN and Terry Nakano (Jim) of Spokane, WA; and sister in-law Dorothy Harada of Hillsboro, OR; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Takashi and Tamaru Harada; sisters and spouses Toshiko and George Okita, Masako and Jim Iwai and Akiko Harada; brother Hideo Harada; brother in-law Tomo Kosobayashi; and sister in-law Bessie Harada. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple in Ontario, OR. Cremation was under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
