Having lived this life to the fullest, the loving spirit of Miyoko Morishita, 92, of Idaho Falls began a new journey on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.
Miyoko was born on April 4, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jintaro and Kaneko. The family moved to the Southeast Idaho area where she grew up and graduated from Blackfoot High School. She continued her education and earned a technical school certificate in bookkeeping. On Dec. 9, 1949, Miyoko married Tucker Morishita in Idaho Falls.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and looked forward to her weekly bowling league and time on the golf course. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours on creative craftwork. She always enjoyed family vacations traveling throughout the West coast and Canada.
She leaves behind a loving family, her two daughters Penny (Michael) Tibbitts, and Peggy (Alan) Brookshier, two grandsons Mark Brookshier, and Travis (Maaike) Post-Phelps, one great granddaughter Miyo Post-Phelps, and many nephews and nieces. Miyoko was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Tucker, brothers Takeo and Maseo and sister Marjorie.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls for all their special care and support.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.Buck-Murphy.com.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity or plant a tree in her memory.
