Eleanor May McCune, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born on July 14, 1926, in Rexburg, to Oliver and Chloe Nichols McCune. She lived with family on Willow Creek Ranch in Lemhi County. She moved with family to Idaho Falls in 1935. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1944. She married Fred A. Peterson in 1946 and moved to Bozeman, Montana. They were later divorced. After her divorce she moved back to Idaho Falls. She was employed by Financial Credit Corp, later known as the Lockhart Company, for 32 years. Bowling, fishing and traveling were her main interests. She was a life member of the Museum of Idaho. Survivors include her cousins, Chuckie Neitzel of Idaho Falls, Janet Neitzel of Idaho Falls, and Harry (Betty) Nichols of Meridian; and dear friend, Phyllis Nisbet. She was preceded in death by her parents and six cousins, Richard Nichols, Lorraine Anthony, Roger Tranthan, Maggie Neitzel, Tom Nichols and Nick Nichols. A Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
