Nancy Elaine Seliger Chandler born June 18, 1932 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, passed away at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, on October 26, 2013, at the age of 81. Born the 4th child of Johan Franz Wilhelm Seliger (aka William John Joark Seliger) and Verna Fear, Nancy was raised in Whiting, Indiana, right on the Illinois State Line. Her young life was filled with private dancing lessons, shopping trips to The Loop, and fun adventures on Lake Michigan. She had a great love of life from an early age and loved to spend time on the family farm and in her Dad's Electrician Shop. Nancy met her Frank while he served his church as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it was "love at first sight". She was determined to marry her Idaho Cowboy, a dream she realized on January 7, 1952. Frank and Nancy prepared to make their home in Weiser, Idaho, when Frank was drafted to serve in the US Army, leaving Nancy with their first child for the first two years of their married life. Upon Frank's return from Germany, the couple settled into their Monroe Creek Home where they have raised their eight children. Nancy has always been an active member of her community serving on the School P.T.O., the Cannery Board, the Museum Board, and the Washington County Fair. She received many honors for her selfless labor including the Idaho Statesman Distinguished Citizen, The First Lady of Weiser, and the Washington County Friend of the Fair Award. She has actively served in many responsibilities in her church over the years. She has loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the impact her testimony has had in her life and on her posterity. Her greatest treasure is her family. She and Frank have eight children, 33 Grand Children, 44 Great Grand Children, and many wonderful son and daughter in laws. Funeral services for Nancy will be on November 1, at 11:30 a.m. at the Weiser L.D.S. Church after which she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery next to her infant daughter, Marci Dee. Nancy's Family welcome all friends and family to join them at a viewing prior to the funeral services from 9 am to 11 am at the LDS Church in Weiser, Idaho. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Nancy's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
