Nancy A Tucker

June 23, 1933 — April 5, 2013

Filer -Nancy Ann Tucker, 79, died at home Friday, April 5, 2013, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born June 23, 1933, in Seattle Washington joining her sister Betty and parents Don and Lucille Evans. Nancy lived in Seattle and attending Garfield High School and the University of Washington until she met a handsome sailor named Richard Tucker. Dick and Nancy were married November 27, 1954, and settled into farm life in Filer. Though she was born a city girl, Nancy loved farm life and spent the next 50 years helping in every aspect from driving truck to caring for the baby calves.
Nancy was always giving her time and talents for others participating in many service groups and charities. She was a 50-year member and a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star; a past president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, and chaired and served on many committees at the Filer First Baptist Church. Nancy's greatest joy was her family. She was always there to help and support her kids and to dote on and spoil her grandkids... But her favorite times were spent traveling with Dick, whether it was camping and fishing, sightseeing in Europe or Alaska, or taking the motor home south for the winter, she was always ready to go.
Nancy was fortunate to have many dear friends and lots of extended family who will miss her very much.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Don Evans, her mother Lucille Evans, and her daughter-in-law Denni Tucker.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard Tucker, Filer; her sister Betty Evans, Twin Falls; her son Michael Tucker, Filer; daughter Diana (Pat) Delaney, Twin Falls; and two cherished grandchildren, Jay Tucker, Filer and Matt Delaney Idaho Falls.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10 am at the Filer First Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Tuesday April 9, from 6-8pm at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park". The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Visions and Mountain State's Tumor Institute for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation in Nancy's honor to the Filer Baptist Church camp scholarship fund.
