Neva Elizabeth Mortensen

Neva Elizabeth Mortensen, 97, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born on May 15, 1917, in Nebraska, to Lee R. Woolsey and Jenny McCoy Woolsey. Neva worked on farms as a cook and nanny. She married Floyd A. Cole on April 15, 1936. After Floyd passed away she married Floyd Marion Mortensen on November 9, 1940; after his passing she married Arthur Adams but they later divorced. She was a hard worker and worked on the farm, worked at the NRC as a cook, Newberrys, Britz, Lamonts, and loved going to church. She attended the Gethsemane Baptist Church and then the Berean Baptist Church. She loved fishing, quilting, and gardening. She was a very loving and committed Christian and lived life to the fullest. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Naomi Cole of Idaho Falls; two granddaughters, Carol J. (Ray) Lancaster of Aurora, Illinois, and Sharie (Scott) Wallingford of Chula Vista, California; one grandson, Roy L. (Ruth Anne) Cole of Idaho Falls; and five great-grandchildren, Kristi Dawn (Dave) Rabaka of Pennsylvania, Ray (Lori) Lancaster of Harvard, Illinois, David Cole of Pocatello, Brian (Madonna) Bartlet of Australia, and Autumn (Jonny) San Pedro of California. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd A. Cole, Floyd M. Mortensen, and Arthur Adams, and by her son, Larry L. Cole. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with Pastor John Lovegrove, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
