Nina was born on Feb. 14, 1921, in Douglas, WY to Henry C. and Ida E. Anderson. Her brothers named her Nina Valentine because she was the ninth child and she was born on Feb. 14th. She moved to Fruitland, ID with her parents at an early age. It was there she met a neighbor, Sam Ralston, who became her husband in 1941. Sam offered her rides home from school on a lettuce truck. Together they spent the next 27 years farming and dairying in Whitley Bottom near Fruitland. Nina loved to paint and garden. They spent most of the next two years following their dreams of hunting and fishing in Alaska. She and Sam finally retired in 1994 and moved to New Plymouth. They were married 68 years. She is survived by her sons Samuel and Gene Ralston, and daughter Linda Doman as well as four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam in 2009.
