Norman Henry Heuer (AKA Sonny) passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls on November 4, 2024 at the age of 88. Throughout that day, family and friends visited him and shared stories, times of prayer, and encouragement with him.
Norman was born on September 26, 1936 in Idaho Falls to Fred Herman Heuer and Freda Bolland Heuer. Norman was raised on the family farm along with his 5 siblings. He liked to take long walks and enjoyed bowling, baseball (especially the Idaho Falls Chukars), and music. Norman attended school in Coltman and graduated from Bonneville High School. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Later in life, he attended and became a member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Rigby.
When Norman was 4 years old, he could remember the license plates of all the cars that went by his home on Hitt Road.
Norman lived in that home on Hitt Road for most of his life. He was well taken care of by his sister-in-law Gayle Heuer Carter for over 40 years.
Norman recently moved into Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community. He enjoyed his time there very much. He actively participated in Bingo, walking around the property, seeing auto shows, attending bible study, and visiting Baker's Dozen.
Funeral services will be held on November 23, 2024 at 11:00 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Weems, officiating.
Norman is survived by his sister, Madeline (Martin) Steinkamp of Idaho Falls, his brother Donald Heuer of California, sister-in-law Gayle Heuer (Dave) Carter of Idaho Falls and 11 nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Gihring Moen, sister Elaine Osuna, and brother Edward Heuer.
A private graveside service at Fielding Memorial will be held in the spring.
The family would like to thank Gayle for her wonderful care of Norman over the years, Evelyn at Qualicare as well as all the professionals at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community and Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. In addition, thanks to AssureLink Medical Alert and many other "angels" who helped Norman during his lifetime.
