Osvaldo "Oz" Marquez-Nevarez

Osvaldo “Oz” Marquez Nevarez, 45, passed away in Idaho Falls, ID on December 21^st, 2023.

Oz was born on August 22nd, 1978, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa Mexico to Rafael Marquez and Guadalupe Marquez.

In 1981, when he was 3 years old, his family moved to Idaho Falls. Oz attended Dora Erickson Elementary, Claire E. Gail Jr. High School, Bonneville High School and he graduated from Idaho Falls High School. You would always see Oz with his faithful companion, his dog Gizmo.  They were inseparable.  

Oz liked to ride his bike around town and if he wasn’t on his bike, he was walking. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help when asked without hesitation. Oz loved to travel, he loved the History Channel, and he loved jazz music.

Oz is survived by his mother, Guadalupe; his father, Rafael; his twin brother, Omar Marquez Nevarez (Portland, Oregon); brother, Juan Carlos Marquez Nevarez;  his children, Marisol Marquez  Issac Villa, Charlotte Marquez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and sister Irene Marquez Nevarez and her children,  Cassandra Irene Sotelo, Jairo Sotelo, Pedro Sotelo and Daisy Cruz (Abel Cruz) Idaho Falls, Idaho; many aunts, uncles and cousins;  and many friends. 

He is preceded death by grandparents Ebodia Sanchez Meza and Abel Nevarez and uncle Ramon Nevarez.

Funeral Service will held on Friday, December 29^th, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm at The Morninglight Chapel inside Buck-Murphy Funeral Home, 825 E. 17^th St. Idaho Falls, ID.
