Pedro (Pete) Garcia Jr, 80 of Idaho Falls passed away November 8th, 2016 surrounded by family. Pete was born on November 15th, 1935 in Crowell, Texas to Pedro and Dominga Garcia. He grew up and attended schools in the western states. Pete enlisted in the Marines and served for 2 years. On March 20th, 1957, he married the love of his life, Patricia Garcia and together they had 5 children. He made his living as an Irrigation Foreman on a farm in Osgood for 17 years before he retired. Even after retirement, he continued to do odd jobs to keep busy. He did maintenance for a local motel, drove budget trucks and was also able to work potato harvest for Taylor and Sons.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. To avoid the winters in Idaho, they traveled to Yuma for the past 16 years.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons: Billy Garcia, Eddie Garcia, and Paul Garcia, and a daughter, Mickie Garcia, and 2 sisters, Linda Terrell and Delphina Chavez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Garcia, a son, Leroy (Tammy) Garcia, 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Raymond Garcia, Rayes Garcia, and Billy Garcia, and his sisters Cruz Ringle, Delores Bement, Dominga Bixby, Juanita Soyk, and Mary Russell.
A visitation will be held Sunday November 13, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at. Funeral services will be Monday November, 14 2016 at 3 pm. All services will be held at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
